What does this mean, what's the process?
Glad you asked, but before we go any further we would like to ask you some questions.
1. Why do you want/need a web site?
2. What will be its purpose?
3. Who will be your target audience?
4. Will you want to update it yourself?
Knowing the answers to these questions is fundemental in allowing you and us to understand your needs.
Web sites generally fall into one of three types:
Brochure: this has one purpose, to generate enquiries by marketing you, your products and your services .
Ecommerce: the purpose of having an ecommerce web site is to earn money by selling goods or services.
Intranet: this is a password protected web site that is used by an organisation and its staff to desseminate infomation within the organisation.
Once we know what type of web site you need, it's time to find out how you would like the web site to look. We find it useful if you have the addresses of a few live sites on the web that you like the 'look and feel' of. This provides a good basis for discussing the various layout options available.
We will during our discussions outline options and strategies for use in search engines and the general promotion of your web site.
At this stage we will supply you with an estimate for the web site design, and hosting if required. Once this has been accepted we will then provide you with a visual proof of the proposed design; this will then be refined until you are happy with the layout.
By now you should have supplied us with the content, text and images for the web site. We now build the web site to the agreed design and populate with your supplied content.
Once all content is in we will ask you to review and 'sign off' the build, we will make your new web site live to the world.
CONTENT MANAGEMENT
Many companies now require the facility to update their web sites themselves. We can provide an online solution for this and in fact often recommend this as an option during our initial discussions.
